Full interior remodels within your existing footprint: kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, lighting and finishes carried through every room, so the whole house feels new. Designed, permitted and built by one team.

What’s included

  • Layout changes: moving or opening walls, reworking rooms, and structural engineering where needed.
  • Systems: electrical, plumbing and HVAC upgraded while the walls are open.
  • Kitchens and baths: remodeled together with the rest of the house, with custom cabinetry built in our own shop.
  • Finishes throughout: flooring, paint, doors, trim and lighting carried through every room, with materials sourced and ordered for you.

Modernizing older homes

Many of our whole-home projects are older homes that need to work for how people live today while keeping what makes them special. Right now we are remodeling a mid-century modern home in Portola Valley, keeping its history while updating it for modern life.

No seams between old and new

Remodeling room by room over years leaves a house that feels pieced together. Doing it at once lets one design run through the whole home, and it is usually more cost-effective than piecemeal projects.

Questions homeowners ask

Can we live at home during a whole-home remodel?

It depends on scope. Some projects can be phased, but when the kitchen, bathrooms and utilities are all affected, most families are better off moving out for the construction period. We will tell you honestly at the first walkthrough.

Is a whole-home remodel different from an addition?

Yes. A whole-home remodel works within the existing footprint. If you need more square footage, see our home additions page. Many projects combine both.

Do you work on mid-century and older homes?

Yes. We are currently remodeling a mid-century modern home in Portola Valley, keeping its character while modernizing it.
